Well, well, well. Here we are at the close of the year, reflecting on the whirlwind that the past 12 months have been. It's surreal to think that just a year ago, I was in my office planning the BGCOM, FUTURATION, CTC, and now it's all drawing to a close.
While I've been relatively quiet, a lot has been happening behind the scenes.
In November, we officially launched Futuration at the Palms at Crown, an impressive 800-capacity venue. The Palms at Crown holds a special place in my heart as a space where, as a child, I was captivated by theatre, music, and the performing arts. It's a venue that I never thought I would have the opportunity to host a show at, yet here we are, introducing the next generation of Australian Entertainment. With 15 artists, 20 dancers, and an unmatched musical team, the response has been overwhelming – 70% sold out within two days of the launch. Simultaneously, in November, BGCaptivate, my creative organisation, remained busy producing content, events, media, and managing various organizations. It was a month of hard work, with over 30 jobs, but the results were worth it.
December marked the end of the Ample BGCommunity Events, bidding farewell to Ample Cafe but welcoming our new venue in South Melbourne, set to launch in 2024. The BGCommunity remains one of my proudest projects, boasting a warm and inviting family with some of the best talent in all of Australia. Throughout December, we worked on 40 events, including my most significant achievement of the year, the Community Bank Carols on December 16th, with over 3000 attendees. The sheer grind of administration, producing, and planning culminated in something truly magical. At 22, I surprised myself, and I extend my thanks to the Community Bank WKB, NVC Precast, Wallan Chamber of Commerce, and the incredible staff, singers, and vendors who contributed to this event.

And now, here we are, on the brink of "Coming Together Christmas," airing tonight on December 20th on C31 and CTV+. Over 100 hours of effort, featuring special guests like Jess Perri from Masterchef, Bobby Fox, Aydan and Madi K, and Lucas and Mert, this promises to be a special moment. Earlier in the month, I had the pleasure of surprising Penny, a deserving mom, with a $3000 cheque, thanks to Hilltop Caravans.
